Job opening for Business Manager for Lakota Waldorf School


The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:

A minimum Bachelor degree in business administration, and/or equivalent experience.

Excellent computer skills/knowledge required: Word and Excel, QuickBooks, Internet.

Excellent written communication and grammar skills. Must pass drug and alcohol test and background check according to school policies prior to entry into employment status.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Managers responsibility and duties include the following:

Supervise and oversee the general operations of the school and daily operation.

Should promote and insure social partnerships in accordance with Waldorf principles.

Works closely and collaboratively with the Development/Financial Director in all administrative operations, administrative requirements, fiscal, legal, personnel, policy creation and implementation, and upholds all policy mandates.

Other skills, knowledge, and experience:

Has experience in the operational elements and daily business routines and requirements of a nonprofit organization and/or Waldorf School operation.

Possesses strong knowledge of non-profit financial management and accounting practices.

Shall be timely, reliable, dedicated and well organized. Able to maintain grant reports and financial reports. Ability to work independently.

Have a demonstrated commitment to collaborations, objectivity, relationship and consensus building as well as conflict resolution.

Punctuality, professionalism and flexibility, Strong organizational skills

Compensation depending on experience

The Lakota Waldorf School is a K-8 grades small and fast developing located in the South Western corner of South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, 80 miles south east of the next town Rapid City. It is a remote area in the midst of beautiful prairie and Badlands surrounded by the rolling plains.
